Committees

Oklahoma City COPAS Committees

Committee meetings include ongoing discussions, speakers, and presentations on important and current topics so attendees are well informed of issues affecting their jobs and industry. Committees meet regularly to research and discuss local and national oil and gas topics and obtain Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credit from speakers invited to share their knowledge.

Committees collaborate on issues facing our industry in the following areas:

Audit

To investigate, analyze and recommend solutions to issues relating to oil and gas industry audits, with particular attention to concerns arising from the application and interpretation of COPAS publications.

Education

The COPAS Education Committee mission is to initiate, develop, encourage, support, and disseminate educational programs for the energy industry, separate from the COPAS Energy Education offerings.

Financial Reporting and Tax

To accumulate, analyze, review and disseminate information in the areas of internal and external financial accounting and reporting, significant to the oil and gas industry and members of COPAS.

Joint Interest

To accumulate, analyze, review and disseminate information, and to represent COPAS in the coordination of all projects or studies pertaining to the accounting for joint operations in the oil and gas industry.

Revenue

To accumulate, analyze, review and disseminate information related to the area of upstream, midstream and downstream revenue accounting significant to the oil and gas producing industry and members of COPAS.

Small Oil and Gas Companies

To analyze, develop and distribute information significant to activities of the small office and multi-functional staff environment that typically exists in the smaller companies in the oil and gas industry.
